EVERYONE ACTUALLY IS EACH OTHER, Hillyer Artspace, 2015

Habit, ceremony, superstition, ritual. Everyone Actually is Each Other discusses authorship within the context of creative processes by identifying contradictions and overlaps as integral to studio etiquette. Prompted by a series of audio recorded interviews, the studio practices of eight artists are expressed through instructional drawings. The drawings are situated within my own studio layout with the artist interview soundtrack playing, in which each artist talks about the rules, ethics and conflicts associated with their process.

interviews with:

-a DC based slam poet

-an multidisciplinary MFA candidate

-a VA wood worker

-a sculpture teacher

-a burlesque performer

-a figurative sculptor

-a fibers teacher

-a painter
